To combat coronavirus in the country, the Ministry of Science and Technology has constituted the Scientific Task Force on COVID-19.
The committee is headed by Prof Atta ur Rahman, who is serving as its chairperson. Members of the committee include Prof Dr Javed Akram, Vice Chancellor, University of Health Science Lahore; Prof Dr Shazna Khalid, Prof Al Fareed Zafar, Prof Iqbal Choudhury, Prof Dr Khalid Khan and Prof Mariam Riaz Tarar.

According to the Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry, the committee is tasked to work on finding a vaccine for the COVID-19 as well as coordinate research on various other aspects.

He said that the committee would also assistant international organizations for the purpose. Additionally, the minister said that the Science Foundation was also initiating a data research project related to the COVID-19.
